Beach House Wall Decor, Coastal Home Decor, Palette Knife Art, Original Oi Painting

I can remember the day, I was walking the beach, in Florida, and captured this scene with my camera.  The birds were my only companion, that morning.  Can you smell the salt air?

Purchase here

The canvas is 8x16x1.5, with the sides painted in a dark value, allowing it to be hung with or without a frame.

Thanks for viewing!

Seascape Painting, Breaker in the Caribbean, Giclee Print of Ocean Wave, Daily Painting,

Lately, I have been painting seascapes.  I always love painting and viewing seascapes.  It's almost as soothing to me as a trip to the beach.

SOLD
Of course, the first step for me IS a trip to the beach.  I  pick a day with my trusty camera and head for the sand.  I count myself lucky if I get a few interesting shots.

detail
For this painting, I used images from a trip to Barbados.

For the time being, I have hung this on my studio wall.  It transports me to the sea each time I see it.
Isn't art wonderful?!

Coastal Home Decor, Beach House Art, Coastal Painting, Daily Painting, Original Art,

I have run from the snowy mountains, to the beaches of Florida.  Lucky me, I can walk on the beach, and work at the same time.

Purchase Here
I photoed this guy, during my morning walk and painted soon after.

The birds are so conditioned to people, they barely move when you approach.  In the morning, it is all business, as they are looking for food.

We are enjoying our Florida winter on the beach.  Being a snowbird is a good thing!

Palette Knife Art, Textured Painting, Seascape Oil, Abstract Seascape, SOLD

I wanted to do a seascape, or actually a beach painting, somewhere between an abstract and impressionism.

SOLD

I wanted to record just my memories and impressions of trips to the beach.  I painted with a knife and tried to work quickly.

I tried not to think too much about the colors I was using or where I was putting them, but tried to keep it really instinctive.

I wanted plenty of texture in this piece.

It was a fun exercise!

Although this painting has sold, it is available as a giclee print on canvas or distressed wood planks.  Contact me for sizes and pricing.

Thanks for viewing my blog today.
