Morning on the beach, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Beach Painting, Seagull on the Beach, 11x14" Original Oil

I have run from the snowy mountains, to the beaches of Florida.  Lucky me, I can walk on the beach, and work at the same time.

I photoed this guy, during my morning walk and painted soon after.

The birds are so conditioned to people, they barely move when you approach.  In the morning, it is all business, as they are looking for food.

We are enjoying our Florida winter on the beach.  Being a snowbird is a good thing!

Fish Oil Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 8x16x.75" Palette Knife Painting

This painting was inspired by a trip to Key Largo's coral reefs.  It was thrilling watching the brightly colored tropical fish in their natural habitat.

Purchase here

I started with a brush, but soon had a palette knife in my hand.

I also started with a photo, but soon found my own way.  I made the fish plumper, deleted their stripes, just enjoyed the process and the freedom to do what came naturally.

As I worked the paint got thicker and thicker.  It was a fun and relaxing day in the studio.  I came away feeling good!

Enjoy the moment!

Daily Painting "Beach Patrol II by Carol Schiff, 6x8 art, Sea Gull painting

Purchase Here
100

I seem to be doing a lot of sea gull paintings lately.  I didn't plan it that way, it just happened.  This guy was on the beach close to my home, and didn't seem to care how many people were around.

Don't you think he looks rather determined?

I hope you get to the beach ,or whatever you like to do for relaxation, this weekend.
